My sister informed me that new residents of the mansion are expected to introduce themselves on this journal system. Greetings to all, I am Medusalith Amaquelin of Attilan, but most people call me Medusa. And, fitting enough, my power has to do with control of my hair. That is what occurs when a mutant with the gift of precognition tells your parents what your abilities will be prior to your birth.

I will be attending Columbia University in the fall, which I have just realized means that courses begin this Tuesday. Are there any other individuals who live here that will be attending Columbia?

Crystal has told me a lot about Xavier's and all the residents, so I am curious to see how her descriptions will match up with my experiences.

Medusalith

No, silly!

The stuff that comes in a can! The delicious, delicious stuff from Hormel!

That kind of spam! Nobody likes all the icky stuff that gets chucked into our email.

EW!

Perhaps I should not have had those Pixie Sticks.

Perhaps you should not have...what are Pixie Sticks? I do not think I want to try them. I am also not aware of any food that is delicious that comes from a can. Fresh is always best.

Where I'm from, fresh food rots really fast.

So either you have to prepare it quick or you preserve it.

SPAM is a wonder! A marvel! It's so yummy, and all my friends and family love it!

Pixie Sticks are a form of candy that Clarice introduced me to. It's like a giant meter-long straw full of yummy sugar!

I had four. I think I overdid it just a little.

Would you like one?

Have you had fresh food since you arrived here? From what I hear, acquiring fresh items is not a problem here so you are no longer required to eat from a can.

And no.

Of course I have. I also lived in Japan for a while.

I still like SPAM. It's yummy.

And if you don't want a Pixie Stick that's fine. More for me!

But not right now. Maybe later. Right now I think I'm going to go take a nap.

Please tell me that is one of those jokes you seem so fond of telling. Otherwise, I think I will be sick.

well...I don't think SPAM is really squirrels or monkeys, but I think it really is pig. or pig parts. preserved, congealed pig parts in water.

SPAM is GROSS. really, really gross. and we are so thankful for refridgeration in America.

Pixie sticks are sugar and fake fruit flavors, or sugar and citric acid. They're one of those snacks that little kids go and get from the candy store with their allowance and their parents never want them to have them. And I totally speak from expierence with this. I loved them when I was little. Can't really eat them now, but I'm not missing much. They're... it's just flavored sugar, really.

And I hear that on the fresh. Canned food tastes like ... well, cans.

Aaand, I suck at remembering to introduce myself. I'm Kyle Gibney - I'd be the tall blond one with the pointy ears, and claws and fangs.

I'll probably have some classes with your sister, actually, now that I think about it.

Greetings Kyle. I am glad that I am not the only one appalled by the idea of food from cans.

It's not that I'm grossed out exactly, I mean, the stuff tastes bad now, but when I was little, like pre-mutation little, I didn't notice.

But I wonder if that's because I ate a lot of it so I didn't know better, you know? I can't eat it now - it tastes funny, and I have food sensitivies. (Dr. Moira says it's not allergies, because I can't be allergic to anything. It's just that I have trouble with certain foods)

But food out of cans now just kind of ... okay, well, NOW it grosses me out.

I guess it's all what your used to, you know? I'm used to canned food, because growing up where I did, it's how you got some vegetables because they didn't grow locally.
